Starting with Motorola Processors: One of our early breakthroughs came with the development of custom solutions based on the Motorola 68xxx series processors. This powerful line of processors became the foundation for many of our initial embedded systems, which were used in a variety of mission-critical applications within Aerospace and Defense. The reliability and performance of these systems helped to solidify our reputation as an innovator in the field.
Customized Off-The-Shelf Solutions: Alphi Technology pioneered the concept of “Customized Off-The-Shelf” (COTS) solutions, combining the reliability of commercial products with the flexibility of custom designs. This approach allows us to meet specific client needs without the long lead times and high costs typically associated with fully custom solutions. Whether it’s a simple digital I/O board or a sophisticated data acquisition and digital servo control system, our COTS solutions have been successfully deployed in applications ranging from airframe and component testing to MIL-STD-1553 communication systems for underwater mine detection.
Servo Control and Data Acquisition Solutions for Aerospace: Alphi Technology has been instrumental in developing advanced servo control systems and data acquisition solutions for some of the most challenging aerospace applications. Our projects include:
- Boeing C-17 Landing Gear: We designed servo control systems that ensure the precise and reliable operation of the landing gear for the Boeing C-17, enhancing the safety and performance of this military transport aircraft.
- Bell Helicopter Osprey Frame Testing: Our servo control solutions were integral to the testing of the Bell V-22 Osprey’s frame, providing the precise control needed to validate the aircraft’s unique tiltrotor capabilities.
- Boeing NOTAR Testing: We contributed to the testing of Boeing’s No Tail Rotor (NOTAR) technology, which offers improved safety and performance in helicopter flight by eliminating the need for a tail rotor.
- Boeing Apache Blade Testing: Alphi’s servo control systems were also used in testing the rotor blades of the Boeing Apache helicopter, ensuring the blades met the rigorous performance standards required for this attack helicopter.
- Allied Signal Fluid Systems: We developed large-scale system integration for VME-based data acquisition and control, including real-time data logging, archiving, and database retrieval with LAN integration to the Allied Signal Fluid Systems network.
- NASA AMES Wind Tunnel: We provided a data acquisition subsystem with over 2600 channels, delivering high-resolution, real-time data for critical aerodynamic testing.
Innovative Communication Solutions for the Military:
Alphi Technology has developed sophisticated communication systems for military applications, including:
- MIL-STD-1553 Integration: Alphi Technology provided a DSP-based, MIL-STD-1553-connected data acquisition and control system for the U.S. Air Force’s jet engine test stands. This system ensured robust, reliable communication in safety-critical environments, drastically reducing the cabling required and increasing the system’s fault tolerance.
- Remote Mine Hunting System: Our IP-1553-SUMMIT board was selected by Lockheed Martin for use in the AN/WLD-1 Remote Mine Hunting System. This system is critical for the U.S. Navy’s mine detection and neutralization efforts, ensuring safe passage for naval vessels in potentially hazardous waters.
- Synchro Resolver Systems: A major military contractor selected Alphi Technology to design a new Synchro Resolver System for the U.S. Navy’s gun firing applications. This system is integral to the control and monitoring of gun firing operations, demonstrating our expertise in advanced system designs and our reputation for top-tier customer service.
Semiconductor and Industrial Applications:
As our reputation for innovation grew, we expanded our reach into the Semiconductor and Industrial sectors.
